Bird in Hand Gold Project

Location

  • The Bird in Hand Gold Project (BIHGP) is located on the historic Bird in Hand gold mine site and situated 2.7 km from Woodside in the Adelaide Hills, and 30 km east of Adelaide, South Australia.
  • Approximately 35 km north of Terramin’s Angas Zinc Mine (AZM).

Infrastructure and Logistics

  • Close proximity to existing processing facilities at Angas Zinc Mine.
  • Allowing for road haulage via existing sealed roads to transport gold-bearing ore.

Resource and Mining Method

  • High-grade Resource of 265,000 ounces of gold at 12.6g/t.
  • Suitable for underground mining using cut and fill method.
  • Mine and infrastructure to be developed on freehold land owned by Terramin.

Feasibility and Financials

  • According to the June 2020 Feasibility Study:
  • Post-tax NPV₈: $141 million.
  • IRR: 80.5%.
  • Based on a gold price of $2,300 per ounce.
  • 4-year production period.
  • Base case annual production: 44,700 ounces.
  • Low costs:
  • C1 cash cost: $737/oz.
  • All-in sustaining cost: $959/oz.
  • Estimated pre-production capital: $54 million.
  • Potential for capital reductions as studies progress.
  • Capital payback in less than 1 year.

Exploration and Expansion Potential

  • Ore body remains open at depth.
  • Nearby historical mines with potential:
  • Bird in Hand Extended Mine (200m from infrastructure).
  • Ridge Mine (400m from infrastructure).
  • Ridge Mine:
  • Last mined in the 1890s.
  • Produced 517 oz from 2,766 tonnes (5.8 g/t).
  • Retreatment of 6,266 tonnes produced 977 oz (4.9 g/t).
  • Combined average grade: 10.6 g/t.
  • Bird in Hand Extended:
  • One shaft sunk to 30m, ~80m of drives developed.
  • Lode up to 6m wide.
  • Assay samples averaged 25–31 g/t gold.

Regulatory and Legal Status

  • In February 2023, SA Government rejected Terramin’s proposal to mine.
  • On October 14, 2024, Supreme Court of South Australia heard the judicial review of the government’s decision. The Court has reserved its decision.
  • Appeal Lodged: Following the dismissal of its judicial review application on 20 January 2025, Terramin lodged an appeal on 9 February 2025 against the South Australian Government’s decision to refuse mining approvals. The Company contends the decision contradicted the positive technical assessment by the South Australian Department for Energy and Mining, which concluded the project could proceed without adverse environmental or socio-economic impacts.
  • Appeal Date Confirmed: The appeal is scheduled to be heard in November 2025.

Angas Zinc Mine

Location

  • Angas Zinc Mine (AZM) is situated on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia, 2km from the town of Strathalbyn, 60km from the state’s capital city Adelaide, and 70km from the sea port of Port Adelaide.

Operational Status

  • Placed into care and maintenance in late 2013 due to depletion of economic reserves.
  • Majority of underground fixed plant removed and stored on surface to preserve infrastructure.
  • 93% of mined voids have been filled as part of the stoping sequence.
  • Decline and level drives remain open for potential future access to remaining resources.
  • Processing plant decommissioned but maintained in a ready condition for short-term restart.

Maintenance and Compliance

  • The site is maintained under a plan approved by the Department of Energy and Mines..
  • Includes ongoing extensive environmental monitoring.

Resource and Exploration Potential

  • Existing Indicated and Inferred Resource of 1,200,000 tonnes at 5.8% Zinc and Lead.
  • Resource is adjacent to existing mine workings.
  • Potential for additional near-mine resources through further exploration.

Environmental and Regulatory Compliance

  • A Programme for Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPR) has been approved by the Department of Energy and Mines.
  • The PEPR includes the Mine Closure Plan.

Proposed Future Use

  • Terramin has applied for a Miscellaneous Purposes Licence.
  • Licence would allow use of Angas processing and tailings facilities for treating high-grade gold ore from the Bird-in-Hand Gold Project.
